Our goal at Dot Girl First Period Products is that every girl has a positive first period experience and an empowered first step to womanhood.Terri and Kathy's goal for the kit is to provide parents with the tools you need to explain the basics of menstruation to your daughters. And for the girls, they hope that having the kit will lessen their anxiety about their first period and instead turn it into a positive experience.
I just think this is such a neat kit to teach girls all about their first period. Looks at all the great stuff that each kit includes:
*The Dot Girl's First Period Guide™, a 12-page booklet with answers to common questions
*The Dot Girl's Period Calendar™, a simple way for a girl to track her periods
*One Ultra Thin Kotex® Pad With Wings
*Two Kotex® Lightdays® Panty Liners
*Kotex® product brochure (product claims only valid within the U.S.)
*One store coupon for FREE Kotex® products -a $4.39 value (valid only within the U.S.) *Reusable Dot Girl™ Warm Pad, a heating pad handy for soothing cramps
*Scensibles™ Petite Pak (3 disposal bags inside)
*Hand Wipes
They even donate $1 from each period kit sale to the Central Asia Institute whose mission it is to build schools, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan!
To enter you need to click and visit Dot Girl and tell me something about it! Want another entry? Blog about this giveaway and leave a post that you did and where. You can also subscribe to my blog / be a follower / grab my button for additional entries! Winners will be picked using random.org. Contest will end February 19, 2009 9:00 PM EST

This is such a wonderful idea. My sister has twin girls and I know this would help her. It's such an important subject that can carry lifelong repercussions if it's not approached correctly! I've seen it happen, as a teacher. I think this site is a great idea. Thanks!

What wonderful products! My daughter is at the age where she will need these. AS the stories on the website - my mother told me nothing. I figured it out on my own. I have already given my daughter something to carry in her book bag, and have made sure to give her the knowledge she needs. Along with an open line of communication so that she can ask me questions anytime. But this packaged idea is absolutely perfect!
I do believe that I am going to go back and buy my daughter the bra on the page as it looks quite nice.
I think that Dot Girl is a great site!! I like that they Donate one dollar of each kit to The Central Asia Institute:)

My daughter is 10 and many of her friends have already had their "friend" come to visit as my mother used to say. She knows it could happen any time. We have had the TALK but I do think she is nervous as one of her friends was not prepared the other day and was really mortified as a result. I love the Scensibles™ Disposal Bags-50 Pack, product. This helps reduce embarrassment and keep stuff on the DL.

It's funny that they suggest giving the first period kit 3-6 months before the first period since you don't know when it's going to come and there's a 6 year window!
I think this kit is a great idea because it makes it seem more normal instead of a girl having to use her mother's products.

This is an awesome idea. My daughter is almost 12 and I know that the 'event' could happen at any time. It would be nice to have this kit on hand when the time comes.
I love that I can give something cute and fun and have that 12-page booklet to help answer questions for something that could be scary. I have 5 girls, and I would love to win this for them.
The site faqs state "We recommend that a girl gets her first period kit three to six months prior to starting her first period." I know this would be helpful to have for my daughter. I was very young & I figure she will be too & something like this would help make it less scary. Thanks for the contest.
My brother is a divorced dad to a 12 year old girl, who we think is about to get her period. This would be awesome for her (and him). Thanks for this great kit give-a-way.
