McAfee Family Protection Blog Tour

I have always been really strict with letting my daughter on my computer. I have just recently started letting her on my computer on a regular basis. But I always get her on the site she needs to go to. Only because I am worried she will type in something wrong and a bad / x-rated site will pop-up.

I plan on adding more computer work to her homeschool curriculum this coming year. So when I was given the opportunity to review the McAfee Family Protection it was perfect timing. Normally I am not the computer expert in the family. I know nothing about downloading/installing nothing technical. I am good for emailing and blogging :) But hubby was at work and I thought I would give it a try. It was super easy!
Here are some of the features I find very useful!

Email blocking

Time Limits

Filter You Tube Videos - This is my favorite. You Tube has so much educational videos but it is nice top block the naughty stuff!

McAfee has a ton of features but for what my daughter does online this is just what I need as a parent to feel a little better and not look over her shoulder all the time.

McAfee is offering a discount through August 31, 2009 to save $5 off the McAfee Family Protection. The promo code is: 5familyprotection.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of McAfee and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. In addition, McAfee sent me a blanket and care package to thank me for taking the time to participate.

I used to worry about what my kids were doing online until I started making them log in through Kidzui. It's basically internet for kids (there is a free version too). Every website they can see is viewed by parents beforehand. You should check it out!
