If you’re a mother, you probably wish you had an extra arm or more hours in the day to get everything done. Moms (and dads) are busy, but luckily, modern gadgets can help you get some control back in your life. Whether you are trying to keep your child entertained while you are travelling or you are looking for some tools that will help you get more done in less time, here are some gadget reviews for you to consider:

• Web cams – These cameras are great for keeping up with family. If you don’t live close to your parents, a web cam helps them see the growth of your children, and they are a lot more personal than a telephone call. You can video chat with friends and family members for free with Skype or a similar application, so the initial cost of $20-$70 is a steal. A more expensive camera will probably give you better streaming, so consider your needs before you make your purchase.

• iPad – An iPad or tablet of some kind can really help you keep your children entertained. Because you can read books (even colored picture books), play games and listen to music, you can use this one device to entertain multiple ages. If your teenager likes to surf Facebook, but your toddler just wants to read a book, then you can satisfy both desires with one product. Best of all, an iPad is great for the parents too, since it helps you organize your busy schedules.

• Camcorder – A camcorder helps you capture those moments in life that are special, and it makes it easy for you to share those moments with others. Not only can you replay the videos later for your kids, but modern camcorders make it easy to upload to social sharing sites for those who aren’t technologically savvy. For added convenience, consider a mini camcorder, which is great for travelling or stashing in your purse.

• Noise cancelling headphones – Every parent can benefit from noise cancelling headphones, no matter the price. Enough said.

• Digital cameras – If you’re still holding onto the old ‘point and shoot’ camera, it’s time to upgrade to a digital camera. You can see if your child is making a face before you develop the picture, and you can find some really inexpensive models.
